Military Text Layouts

We engrave your text exactly as you enter it. You are not required to follow a formal military layout unless you choose to.

If you would like to use a traditional military text format for your branch of service, please refer to our Military Dog Tag Text Formats page for the correct line order and layout.

How Many Lines Can Be Engraved

You may engrave one word, one line, or up to five lines of text. We charge one flat price for engraving, regardless of how many lines you use.

You do not need to count characters or measure spacing. If your text fits the tag and engraves clearly, we will engrave it. If there is ever a concern, we will contact you before engraving.

Lettering & Font

All engraving is done in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS using a clean, easy-to-read block font selected for clarity and long-term durability.

What Can Be Engraved

• Name
• Service number or ID number
• Blood type
• Branch of service
• Rank or role
• Religion
• Memorial dates or short phrases
• We even did a message to a son

Personal Information & Safety

We do not recommend engraving Social Security Numbers or other highly sensitive personal data. Service numbers or identification numbers are strongly encouraged instead.
