Our Challenge coins are 1-1/2 to 1-3/4 inches in diameter. The thickness will also vary from one design versus another. Challenge coins started back before the Roman Empire and have continued over the years. Challenge Coin became very popular during WWI and WWII. It was during this era that one would slam down his coin on the table to challenge others to drinks at the taverns. If you did not have a coin or your coin was a lower rank or value, you had to buy the drinks. Most of our challenge coins are engravable on the back. Engraving a coin would make your challenge coin very special and unique.
We have Military Challenge Coin, Fire Fighter Challenge Coins, and some general Challenge Coins like our Golden Eagle. Our Military Challenge Coin includes Army Challenge Coins, Navy Challenge Coins, Air Force Challenge Coins, Marine Challenge Coins and Coast Guard Challenge Coins, Purple Heart, Presenting the Flag and our General purpose Golden Eagle. See our line of Fire Fighter Challenge Coins. Most of our coins are engravable.
We recommend 12 characters for the back engraving but the order page is set for a total of 18 characters including commas, spaces, and periods. More character means smaller text. One line of test will be larger than two lines of text. We have other options that we can do so if you need more and something special, we can engrave above and/or below the featured text box area. We have a small selection of coins but if you would like us to carry a coin not shown, please contact us. We do lots of custom works so please ask if you have something special.
